This track will appear on the forthcoming album ’23’ as part of the celebration of
music past and present for Temple Hedz. This has many different versions, but the
original was debuted on their unofficial ‘Demo EP’ from 2001. It was this track
alongside ‘Transcendia’ which also featured on the same EP. This established their
reputation within the music industry. Inspired and now immersed within global dance
music, Paul was invited to rework a Banco de Gaia track ‘Mafich Arabi’ on the back
of this momentous first Temple Hedz EP.
Paul:
“Eighth Paradise was a musical creation waiting to happen. Purely down to my
surroundings at that time and my exciting entry into the alternative electronic sound
production...
What kickstarted this idea was having previously travelled to Nepal and Northern
India in early 2001 and then finding myself at the mercy of the Himalayan mountain
range and its vast majestic beauty. This profoundly left its mark on me, so much so,
that when I eventually returned to my studio back in the UK it was then that I turned
this into something tangible. Even though the meaning ‘Eighth Paradise’ has
multiple meanings in Islam and Buddhism, I chose the word Paradise as an apt word
to describe my feelings in the Himalayas. The number 8? It came from a track I
heard whilst travelling through the mountain range. Again, it’s putting two things
together and making something happen.”
